Spectacular waterfalls and woodland areas contrast with the scattered remains of former mine workings and other rural industries which remind us of the area’s rich industrial heritage.

Morecambe bay is famous for its large wide sands and mudflats which are essential for its wildlife and views of the neighbouring Lake District.
It's a diverse area with coastal towns like Morecambe and Grange-over-Sands, offering activities from guided walks across the sands, birdwatching, seaside promenades, and rich maritime heritage.

Arnside and Silverdale is an area that is famous for its amazing wildlife, stunning scenery, and superb walks.

Visit the Carnforth heritage centre and visit the filming location of the 1945 David Lean film Brief Encounter, the breakfast in the Tearooms is highly recommended!

Kirkby Lonsdale is a picturesque historic market town in Cumbria, known for its charm, independent shops, and stunning location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, offering beautiful river walks, the medieval Devil's Bridge, and the famous "Ruskin's View". It's a popular base for exploring the surrounding countryside, with ancient roots dating back to the Domesday Book it is also the home to many fantastic pubs and restaurants. The Plough Inn is very highly recommended!

If the weather isn't great this is a fantastic day out visiting a collection of 30000+ exhibits and an indoor café.
